LVC Logistics (LVC) offers cross land trucking, LCL services and warehousing, via its extensive
operations network in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Singapore. It is part of Long View Corporation
group, which has 20+ year track-record in Malaysia..
The Challenge
LVC runs its fleet 24x7, including cross-border operations with Singapore. As their fleet was growing,
so too were the opportunities to improve operational efficiency and security.
LVC decided it would benefit most from: real-time fleet tracking, with cross-border capability; tech
for cargo security and CCTV in select vehicles.
Sourcing individually from different vendors is possible, but time-consuming and would expose LVC to a
spectrum of reliabilities. Their preference was to work with a single vendor for a one-stop solution.
What we did
Active Telematics has met this need and more; providing 4G Fleet Tracker and related technologies,
namely: CCTV, Cross-Border Tracking, Fuel Control, E-Lock & Immobiliser.
Today, our notifications & alerts monitor: cargo area & cargo-door security, including remote
opening/closing; excessive idling, fuel-control, location, over-speeding, vehicle
immobilising/demobilising, and video-streaming on demand. Moreover, real-time data of fuel
consumption, fuel level & refuelling, is available for analysis.
Active Telematics also manages verification, data analysis and then escalation, to get that data to
the right persons in LVC.
Outcomes
LVC reports that the greater cargo security provided by a combination of GPS fleet tracking, E-Lock
and CCTV technologies, creates peace-of-mind among its customers that their goods will arrive at the
intended destination, safely and fully intact.
In the rare case that the security-tech is disrupted, LVC logistics knows that Active Telematics will
reach its vehicles quickly to perform remedial maintenance, minimising any delays and supporting LVC’s
goal of on-time deliveries.
